Trium Art Gallery represents Odinakachi Okoroafor

Trium Art Gallery is proud to announce its collaboration with Odinakachi Okoroafor (b. 1987), an artist whose work is increasingly attracting the attention of international collectors and curators alike.

With a strong, instantly recognizable visual language and an extraordinary technical mastery, Okoroafor stands out as one of the most compelling voices in contemporary African art. Born in Nigeria and trained at the University of Nigeria in Nsukka, he lives and works in Enugu, where he develops his powerful mixed media practice that combines painting, printing techniques, and image transfer.

His works are unmistakable: the repeated, dense linear patterns – evoking barcodes and scars – are interwoven with memories, traditions, and the personal and collective stories of the black body. Okoroafor’s pieces often explore issues of identity, beauty, and cultural inheritance, offering a deeply intimate yet politically charged narrative. The artist uses fabric patterns, fragments of lace, and visual codes drawn from his childhood and his territory, layering them to create complex, textured surfaces that resist easy interpretation.

His career has already included important exhibitions at Christie’s in New York (Say It Loud), the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair in London, and institutional shows in Lagos, Milan, Miami, and Switzerland. His works are part of prestigious private collections across Africa, Europe, the United States, and Asia.
