Naples | Adam Handler Where It All Began
Trium Art Gallery, in collaboration with NOH-ART Contemporary, is pleased to present Where It All Began, an artist residency with Adam Handler, taking place in Naples from June 8 to June 13, 2026, hosted by renowned contemporary art collector Ernesto Esposito.
The project unfolds as a return to a formative moment in the artist’s practice. During his early years of training, Adam Handler lived in Southern Italy, between Naples and the Amalfi Coast, where the study of life drawing and direct engagement with the cultural environment marked the origin of his research.
More than twenty years later, the residency reactivates this relationship in a new form, bringing memory, experience, and language into dialogue.

During the residency, the artist will be hosted at PuntoZero (Naples), curated by Valeria Apicella, where the space will become a site of research and exchange, open by appointment to collectors, curators, critics, and members of the press.
The project will culminate on Friday, June 12, 2026, with a public open studio, offering direct access to the artist’s working environment and to the processes that have shaped the development of the works.
Throughout his time in Naples, Handler will engage with the city’s dynamism, visual density, and emotional complexity, placing this experience in tension with the memory of his formative years in Italy.
From this dialogue between past and present, a new body of work will emerge, in which the artist’s language is reactivated and redefined through context.
